Project update ·

PromptingCraft.com is now live in ChatGPT and the official MCP Registry.

An open-source Skill for clearer coding-agent handoffs, with an optional service for source-backed prompting guidance.

From a discussion to a useful handoff

A development conversation often contains more than a task description: decisions, boundaries, permissions and unanswered questions all matter. A prompt rewrite can accidentally lose one of those constraints or add work nobody authorized. We built PromptingCraft.com to make that handoff easier to inspect.

The Skill extracts the task contract, checks applicable official guidance, drafts an execution-ready prompt and critiques it against the original request. It revises when there is a reason to do so; a prompt that is already suitable can stay unchanged. The result is a handoff for a fresh coding agent, rather than a claim that a particular rewrite will improve every coding outcome.

Two complementary components

The Agent Skill carries the prompt-authoring workflow and bundled, dated references. It is open source and can work without the hosted service. The current public source contains standalone Skill version 0.4.0 for prompt-writing workflows targeting Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

The optional guidance MCP server supplies structured, source-linked records. Its read-only tools search the curated ledger, retrieve a record and compare an allowlisted source against a verified snapshot. Search accepts fixed filters, not arbitrary prompt text. Freshness checks can be cached; a changed page does not by itself prove that a particular recommendation changed.

Where to use it today

Directory entries are distinct from installations. Cursor Marketplace and Claude Directory publication are not claimed here. The separate ChatGPT plugin 0.4.0 remains a candidate, not a published upgrade.

Install or connect

For a Claude Code project, the following command installs the standalone Skill from the current public GitHub branch. The command opts out of optional CLI telemetry:

Claude Code · project Skill
DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1 npx -y skills@1.7.4 add revanbcn/promptingcraft-skill --skill promptingcraft --agent claude-code --copy --yes

Installation copies files into the project; it does not prove activation. Start a new Claude Code session and ask it to review or prepare a coding-agent prompt. See the installation guide for other hosts and limitations.

To use the optional MCP, connect an MCP-capable client to https://mcp.promptingcraft.com/mcp using Streamable HTTP. No account or API key is required. An independent SDK client read the Registry entry, connected to the server and called search_guidance; Claude Code also made a verified tool call. Those checks do not establish every client's installation or activation behavior.

What changed, and what comes next

On October 28, 2026, the official Registry accepted and published the remote MCP entry. Around the launch, we improved public installation instructions and added scoped DeepSeek and Kimi API guidance to the source repository, alongside existing OpenAI and Anthropic coverage. The deployed 0.3.0 MCP still uses its earlier dated ledger; the newer source records are not represented as already deployed to that service.

Next, we will continue client-specific testing, review directory applications and prepare any future plugin update separately. Follow the source and provenance records, published evaluation limits and project repository for what is verified.

PromptingCraft.com is developed independently by the dondego.com team. Publication in a directory is not an endorsement of its methodology.
